Chargers outside linebacker Shawne Merriman was arrested early yesterday and accused of choking and restraining his girlfriend, reality TV star Tila Tequila, as she tried to leave his suburban San Diego home.Deputies responded about 3:45 a.m. to Merriman’s house in Poway, north of San Diego, after a woman called to say she was choked by the player and thrown to the ground when she tried to leave, Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jan Caldwell said at a news conference.

'Jaws' closes beaches on Cape Cod
Five Cape Cod beaches were closed to swimmers Sunday for Labor Day weekend after scientists spotted two more great white sharks - bringing the total to four.Senior biologist Gregory Skomal of the state Division of Marine Fisheries and his crew were able to tag two of the four sharks with electronic tracking devices. The feared fish were 8 feet and 10 feet long, Skomal said.

SBTG x Nike Dunk High “Varsity Bones”
During the recent Asia tour by Nike-sponsored basketball superstar Kobe Bryant, a familiar Nike associated artist and customizer in SBTG presented Kobe Bryant with an exclusive pair of “Varsity Bones” Dunk Highs inspired by the theme of “What If”. The shoes were modeled after Bryant’s potential attendance at NCAA Division 1 school Duke with the relevant colorways seen alongside a special lasered wooden box with the Kobe Bryant logo. Air Jordan ‘History of Flight’
In commemoration of Michael Jordan’s illustrious career and recent induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame, Nike has unveiled an Air Jordan “History of Flight” online look-book for fans to view. The 3D pop-up animation also give viewers access to the 25th Anniversary (all white) Collection set to drop sometime next year. Meanwhile, the induction ceremony will officially take place during the weekend of September 10 -12 at the the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Max x 75 YEARS!
Harlem, New York rapper Max B. was sentenced to 75 years in prison today (September 3) for his role in a botched robbery that led to a double murder in a Fort Lee, New Jersey hotel.Max B. and Leerdam were convicted on charges of felony murder, kidnapping and armed robbery for planning and robbing Allan Plowden and David Taylor at a Holiday Inn in September of 2006.Taylor was shot and killed during the robbery, which was planned with Max B.’s ex-girl friend Gina Conway, who testified against the pair during their June trial.
Max B. was not happy with the situation and fired his attorney Gerald Saluti, just before the 75-year sentenced was handed down.
