Pipe Dream Team

LAB 09 is a Nike Sportswear collaborative project whereby designers are invited to create varsity jackets decked in the livery of fictitious sporting teams. The artists choose the team name, colours, motto, and even the mascot. First to enter the arena is The Pipe Dream Team by Brooklyn based Swiss artist Kimou Meyer AKA Grotesk. A team of underdog hustlers with hearts of gold, the design for the Pipe Dream baller jackets draws on vintage baseball and basketball uniforms of the forties and fifties, incorporating such details as old trade union patches and pins.
